Apperantly a new fashoin of clothes had taken a hold of the poplulation. Making a mental note to check into that sometime later, Zum sought out the smith and engineering trainer.

Being lost in the woods gives you plenty of time to reminisant and.... mine ore's. Bags stuffed to the brim, lets hammer together some nice guns and granades. However, as everytime, full bags of ore doesnt impress the engineer trainer much, and we only get to learn how to make one new item after we are done. That helicopter mount still seems so far away...

Staring at the nice pictures of the helicopter mount, our eye falls on the parts list needed to make it. Pretty easy stuff mostly. But what is that elemental seaforium thingy. Some inquiry's
point to a engineer in Area 52 that supposedly sells the scematic. Lo and behold, the guy is not willing to part with the scematic, mumbling something about not realy liking me....

Awww... darn.. His name as pink as his class colour. =)
Grizander’s ambition in life is to become a tankadin.

I never really set foot in the Blood Elf starting area before. And I must say I had a nice time there levelling him to 20. The starting area is Eversong woods and sends you here and fro on some gathering and the usual killing quests. The thing that struck me in the frst levels is how nice the items were gotten from quests. Level 2 swords and shields were as beautiful as some epix I have seen. In Ghostland you encounter mostly undead, daemons or animal creatures.

In Ghostlands you get to visit Deatholme. Deatholme is the largest Scourge outpost in the Eastern Kingdoms outside of the greater Plaguelands, and appears to be jam-packed with temples, ziggurats and slaughterhouses. The variety of enemies in the area include undead nerubians, banshees, wraiths (Eyes of Dar'Khan), and human necromancers with their skeletal minions. Dar'Khan rules this odd assortment from the Tower of the Damned, along with his undead lieutenants.

There are quite a few quests to be done in there, and some o them are group quests. And lo and behold, a low level paladin seems to be quite capable to hold his own in difficult situations. I managed to solo all of them bar the end fight with Dar'Khan Drathir, wich is classed a 5 man fight. I did not even bother to try =).

After finishing up in Ghostlands you get send to Tarren Mill, and I maneged to do something quite silly while traveling there. My normal route traveling from Tarren Mills to the Scarlet monestary is through the lake in Alterac Mountains, mich I also did in this case but traveling in the opposite direction. However doing this at level 21, you first meet level 21 opponents wich are followed up by ?? ones. Four corpse runs, and as much blessigs of protection later while legging it at full speed away from the evil tigers and spiders that inhabit the area, I got killed and was able to ask to be hit with the hammer of ressurection at Tarren Mill's grave yard. =\

Heroes of WoW

Epic World of Warcraft adventures staring Fidget and Shakes.

/rofl

Running the Gauntlet.

After completing the pre-Quest in Old Hilsbrad, in which we reunited young Thrall with his love Taretha, I looked for a group to run the Black Morass.

In Black Morass you need to help the possessed wizard Medivh to open the black portal which will bring the Horde to Azaroth. (note, the Horde come from a place called Draenor, perhaps in a next expansion we get to see this place too)
However the dragonkin of the Infinite Dragonflight are not happy with this and will try to destroy Medivh while he attempts to open the portal.

Our group had a perfect setup. A druid tank, mage, warlock, resto-shaman and yours truly.
Now mutilate is not the best tanking spec, but I was on add duty none the less. The mage and warlock understood that my spec doesn’t shine while trying to semi-tank the ads from the front which seriously gimps my DPS output, and chipped in with damage on the ads with the occasional CoC and DoT. None of the ads made it further away from the portals than 15 feet.

We defeated the waves and the sub-bosses without using any of the chorno-beacons, and when Aonus spawned we promptly greeted him with 5 guardian dragons. It was quick and painless =).

Aonus dropped the Handgrips of Assassination, I now have my first piece on this set. The 2 piece bonus seems really nice, so I think I will be running the Shadow Labs to get the chest too.

Also, I could no longer restrain myself in waiting for Season 4 to commence, which would also mean S2 for honour, and bought the S1 daggers, Gladiator’s Shanker and Gladiator’s Shiv. We legged it back to Shadowmoon Valley and spend our entire fortune of a flying bat.

The Airborne Troll Squad is on its way to Blade edge Mountains next. =)

Mining is like a search-and-destroy mission.

No Questing, no Instances, but scouring the fields for metal veins.

I have dropped skinning now I am almost 70 and have taken up engineering. (note: i took up skinning purely for the gold revenue)
As I had neglected to maintain mining besides my skinning, it was still on a sub 100 skill level. Not that important since I had to begin with copper stuff anyway.

So there we went, roaming the country sides in search of precious metal and gems. After a lot of circuit‘s in the Barrens, a Thousand Needles, Hinterlands and Tarnaris, I am now mining Thorium ores in Sithilus. A great place. All the hives have two separate caves, which in turn usually have 2 rich ooze covered thorium veins. Good pickings. Especially when you can stealth to the vein without fighting a single mob.

The reason for me taking up engineering is very simple actually, as a rogue I have the ability to vanish when things go south. A nice trick that can save some serious repair costs. So there you stand, your party members probably very dead. How do we turn vanish into a group loved trait?

Long live goblin engineering, they can create and use the Jumper cables XL. The success rate of these XL cables compared to the normal ones is significant, about 50-60% where the normal are stuck at about 25-30%.

So now I can save the group a walk when things go bad in an instance and shock a rezzer back to life…

The only problem is that the XL cables are a drop from Plugger Spazzring in BRD, not vendor bought. So when I spotted a not so pricy schematic on the AH, I went for it and bought it.

When I grind my way up in the engineering profession, I really would like to make the Flying machine.
Fun fact: the elemental seaforium charges needed for the flying machine are obtainable at revered with the consortium.

Grind baby grind =).

69 and climbing.

The Path of Conquest

*Ding*, level 68.

I am drawing near to level 70. I have finished up all quests in Terokkar Forest and Nagrand. Wel.. I have about 5-6 Quests left in Nagrand, but they are all group quests. Just waiting for a suitable moment to go and finish those up.

For the moment my playing grounds are Shadowmoon Valley, the home to the Black Temple where Illidan resides. It is one of my least liked questing zones, so better get it out of the way now.

My endeavours have already netted me enough gold to buy me my flying mount, with a bit to spare afterwards so I wont be completely broke.

Last night I helped out Muuka and Meson with the quest line "The path of conquest". It is a path that leads up to a platform with some crystals. The respawn rate of the blood elves that guard the path is phenomenal. We had several really fun pulls. As in both semi-bosses Corock and the chancellor, a son of Corock and a handful of assorted blood elf guards. We managed quite well. Thank god both Muuka and mason have a fair amount of hit points for Mirkador to spend his manapool on healing up again. They were fun and hectic fights.

While doing the quest, there also drops a book that starts another quest. That quest is all the way up at the end of the path where the crystals are. I forgot the name of the quest, but it entails the summoning of four waves of elites. We tried it, but were beat down. After two attempts we thought better of it and let it go for now.

I could not join in on the last part of the "path of conquest", you have to slay colossi while in disguise. I did not have a disguise, so no slaying for me.

I returned back to shatrat where I picked up some help from two hunters to complete "the Skettis offensive". I tried and solo it twice before, but I failed to kill the last wave of three birds fast enough to give me some time to prepare for the final big bird.
With the two hunters assisting, they went down very fast. And around my neck now hangs the Choker of Bloodied Feathers. I returned the favour to the hunters by helping out on defeating Dirty Larry and his band of scoundrels.

I re-did my calculations on honour points, and came to the conclusion that 18 + 9 <> 24. I don’t know how that 24 sticks in my mind, but instead of 24K honour I need 27K. Small difference, but it needs to be worked on one of these days.

Chaos, Mayham and Destruction.

Those were the keywords for last night’s main event.
I dinged 65, and when one hits that level the quest “The Ring of Blood” becomes available.

This is a quest that gives one of the best weapons upgrades for all classes levelling up to 70.
You have to fight in a pit with former champions and the current reigning champion Mogor. In total there are 6 bosses to defeat. We made a guild run out of it. Me, Daygrene, Smalldonna, Meson and Ruryk set out for the Ring.

We definitely were not the only ones having a go at it. When I arrived there were about 3 groups present fighting the bosses. Normally everyone present at the ring helps out the other groups a bit, things go along a lot faster like that, but last night was a bit of carnage. There was at least one group that wasn’t “fuly loaded” and they kept accepting the quest, hoping for help of the others. But in the end they wiped us at least 3 times.

The last two fights are the most challenging. The warmaul champion hist with the force of a freight train dropped from orbit, and Mogor has a chain lightning that can power the entire of Gnomeregan for about a month.

There were a couple of glitches while doing the quest, it turns out that if you complete a stage of it and aren’t quick enough in handing it back in before another group starts an event, you will go from complete to fail… sux. Meson and I were victims of that particular glitch, but in the end we all completed the challenge and reaped our rewards. I choose the Ceremonial Warmaul Blood-blade, a nice and shiny dagger.

To ice the cake the quest also nets;

85050 XP
66G 60S
10 Super Healing Potions
10 Super Mana Potions
and 20 Netherweave Bandages

*shwing* =)

Kudos’ to all present.

What tickles your fancy?

I did this online game quiz, it finds out what floats your particular boat.

Bartle Test of Gamer Psychology

Based on your answers you are ...

ESAK

ESAK players often see the game world as a great stage, full of things to see and people to meet. And while you are fighting him he sommons "evil duplicates" on the group members. They alomost immidiatly go for the healer so I tried to kill em asap. From his dead fingers I pried the Ring of the Exarchs.

Ow.. and I respeced.. again.. =)

Mutilate… I’ll let you know if I decide I like it. =)

Ode to the N00b

copy paste of a article I found

1. Major noob avoiding strategies

------------------------

A. INTRO

I. What is this?
This guide is designed to give you a better understanding of what a noob is, how to recognize them, some details about them, and how to avoid or get rid of them. It mostly applies to online forums, which are the main targets of migrating noobs.

II. Defining 'Noob'
Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own. It is the latter we will study in this guide so that the reader is prepared to encounter them in the wild if needed.

Noobs are often referred to as n00bs as a sign of disrespect toward them, and it's often hella funny, but I will refer to them as noobs during this reading.

* Usually the topic at hand on an internet forum.

B. COMMON NOOB CHARACTERISTICS

I. Noobish
Often, but not always, noobs will attempt to communicate in their own primitive language, known as "n00bish." It is a variant of the hacker language that exposes them as having little intelligence or will to learn. Here is an example of some noobish. Do not attempt to comprehend it: it cannot be discerned without professionals at hand.

stFU /../..an, i r teh r0xx0rz liek emin3m, u cna go tO EHLL OR ATLE4St help m3 wit hthIS!!111!!!!!!!1~~1!!`` !! LOLLOLOLLOLOLlOoLLOlollLL l u n00b

Although you may find this unbelievably funny and/or annoying, it is best to restrain yourself and keep from talking back to them, as they are very territorial and easily angered. This will result in their attempted verbal abuse of you, possibly backed up by other noobs, because they work in packs when doing offensive tasks. It is not an easy task to learn this language because our intelligent accent will keep it from sounding quite right when spoken. You can write some simple noobish of your own, however, by slamming your face into your keyboard repeatedly.

II. Where to find n00bs
On the internet, n00bs make their colonies on forums. They migrate in waves, usually on weekends, and proceed to clog up bandwidth with stupid questions and sometimes even stupid answers. If you happen to be unfortunate enough to be on a board large enough to attract migrating noobs, there will hopefully be authority in charge who is smart enough to take extermination measures before they can make nests and larger colonies. THE BANNER HAMMER is one form of authority.

Larger colonies can result in the mutation of some into spammers. Not commercial spammers, but pointless spammers. A noob can become one of these at any point, but the larger the amount of noobs, the more chance pointless spammers will appear.

Off the internet, noobs appear anywhere the focus is on learning or discussing something specific.

III. Behavior of noobs
Since noobs are basically ignorant bastards, they have a lot in common. The most often seen characteristic is their fluency in noobish, which is why it got its own section. They will also be very self confident as if they were the absolute best at what they are in fact the worst at. Also, they are quite agressive and self-centered, and tend to laugh a lot using many L's and O's in rapid sucession (the noobish word for laughing like an ultimate retard).

It is their instinct to assemble in packs for defense, and they often attempt to organize packs that they call teams. Unfortunately for them, teams usually result in a total loss of communication and they can often begin to fight amongst each other. These teams are quite unlike those formed by non-noobs.

Noobs have difficulty reading English and cannot comprehend the idea of authority.

Therefore, they have an all-out disregard for rules, basic or not. A good way to identify a noob (bad) vs. a newb (good) is to tell them (or have an authority tell them) which rule they are unknowingly breaking. If they respond with an apology and fix it, they are probably not a noob. If they react by insulting everything around them in rapid noobish and causing general mayhem, it is because they are a noob and have had a small seizure due to their inability to understand what is happening.

IV. Noob Religion
Noobs follow a variation of the 1337 (sometimes 7331) religion, in which they worship the number in odd rituals and put altars in their forum avatars and signatures. They often call themselves 1337, which experts say is somewhat like calling themselves godly in a human language. It's best to not interfere with their religious fantasies and practices because that can lead to a noob uprising, which can turn a forum to mush in less than a week.

V. More about noob habitats
Noobs often attempt to maintain their own web pages. Some common features of these lairs are a terrible lack of content, background music, lots of pointless animated gifs, and pages that say some variation of 'tHEir isnothinG H34r yEtt LOLLOLOL!111!1!!~~~!!`! 13371337', which means 'Nothing here yet' in noobish.

They will also have large, seemingly infinite marquees of 88X31 affiliate buttons replaced with red X's scattered here and there, and possibly a hit counter showing a number less than 100. These habitats are numerous but fairly easy to avoid because only noobs link to them. So if you can identify a noob, don't go to its homepage. Simple as that.

C. AVOIDING NOOBS

I. Make sure you aren't one
Note: This section is bilingual so even noobs can make the discovery if they haven't already.

English (T4lk)-

Read the above parts of this guide carefully. If you find yourself unable to comprehend any of it but are instead beginning to think about how great you are and how awesome 'teh 1337' is, you might want to take one of the many available online quizzes to check your noobancy.

Noobish (133713371337)- Liek, u gott4 re3D teh gudieCAREFUl1y and tehn OMG LIEK I AM R0XX0RZ ya anD ify 0u turn into teh reTARDED u gota go 2 MY WEBP4GE LOLLOLOL!!111~11 ad check 4 warez n stfuu. if u r a n00b go2HELL LOLLOLOlROFLMFAO11!!!11!! !! a/s/l pos gtg n00b suxx0rz ur b0xx0rz OLOOOLOLLLL HELP HELP HELP 1337133713371337

II. Major noob avoiding strategies
The main factor in attracting migrating herds of noobs is a large, active forum. If you find one of these, look to see if it has the management to avoid noob infestation. If not, look for a small or mid-sized forum that covers the same topic so you can enjoy your time there before the noobs find it.

Another way to keep noobs from interfering with your life is to become part of the authority on one of these forums. But that's often hard to do so you'll probably be better off avoiding larger forums first off. If you do manage to become part of the authority, however, take full advantage of it and establish extermination policies so that normal people can have a nice time without noob infestations.

Noob Talk: LAlWAlwalwalWAWLAWLAWA!~! ~!~!!!11!!! 1M NOtttt N0000BZ

Mark's of Thrallmar

I did some BG's again last evening. Still saving up for Gladiator's Shanker and Gladiator's Shiv for when I hit level 70. The 40 Eye of the Storm Mark's of Honour are almost done, and I am currently sitting on about 18K honour.
I had a fun time in EoTS. I teamed up with a warrior, and the two of us were a good team. We were able to capture a tower and defend it against some considerable odds.
I stood on the beginning of the ramp trying to catch the alliance mounted, that means out of combat and 10 seconds time to deal with possible buddies of his. The warrior hid behind one of the pillars and would charge the unfortunate alliance player that attacked me. We had some intense fights witch in most cases we were able to win. I met that warrior 4 times again that evening in EoTS.

Later I went to mop up some unfinished quests in Hellfire peninsula, and I saw the three towers were either uncapped or alliance flagged. So I picked up the daily quest "Hellfire Fortifications" to get some Mark's of Thrallmar. I want to pick up Terminal Edge and/or Mark of Conquest. The mark of Conquest is insanely good for Hunters as it has a ~7-8% proc rate and gives both health and manna on all shots. The manna part is why this baby is so good for Hunters. As I am using daggers, I am hoping that it will be useful in BG's, sort of like a second "cheat death" =).
The thrown weapons is definitly worth the trouble, they are very good and easy to pick up.

While trying to capture the towers a alliance shadow priest (70) thought of me as the perfect way to get some fast marks, as killing me near a tower gives him one mark. We duked it out a couple of times and once I even go him close to 10% of his hitpoints. A very lucky premeditation, shadowstep, ambush, kidney shot without his shield up made him a bit panicky, and I almost got the upper hand. I think it was a Shadow word Death that ended that thought.

Shadow priests (and warlocks) are very vulnerable to push back's on their spell's. So when you see a long cast, try to make that one as long as possible by relentlessly attacking him. It is a nice trick to push it back as long as you dare and when the cast is almost completed, punch in a kidney shot... =)
We duked it out about 6 times before I stealthed away and heart stoned to safety. I'll complete the quest tomorrow, one tower left to capture.

Daggers it will be

I think I have decided...

Last night I went questing again. I still had "The Foot of the Citadel" in Hellfire peninsula to complete. Daygrene and I had tried this 3 man group quest twice before and failed it. First you have to clear out the little cove under the Hellfire Citadel. That was no problem. Defeating Force Commander Gorax wasn't that hard either, but when you place that banner on his corpse the Hand of Kargath comes crashing the party. And he brings friends too.

So in good manner, we did too. =)

Morpheus, a lvl 70 Druid, from our guild who was in the area doing dailies lend a paw and Karghath was defeated. The quest gave me a fine new tunic, Darkstorm Tunic , with loads of AP. AP is good for my current ShS build.

Both me and Daygrene dinged lvl 63 somewhere later that same evening, we immediately set out for Terokar forest. We wanted to complete "The Big Bone Worm".
A fun quest to do too, you have to use a drum to lure sandworm over, just like in the book "Dune". The whole quest is an ode to the book. But again the third part proved too much. we had to fight a lvl 68 elite worm. I popped it all, blew every CD on my bar, used pots and potions. The worm did not go below 60% hp. =\

Guess who was in the area? indeed!

After Morpheus again lend us a paw, I now have a nice dagger upgrade. Shani's Crysknife. With this nice upgrade on daggers and the fact that I just love the fast action of daggers, I'll try and stick by them.

Thanks Morph +).
Next quests I'll try and complete on my own merits again.

Battleground Evening

No Questing last night, but an evening of BG's.
Well.... some Bg's. Aggramar had server problems and went down a couple of times.

Once again I am struggling with my Rogue build. Like a good boy I read up on general rogue stuff on the forums, and there one can find that while levelling, combat/swords is the way to go.
I did that till about lvl 50, then I tried out a shadow step build. While it is more fun it indeed is not as fast and good for PvE grind fests.

Also there is the weapon "thingy", I don’t like being tied to one weapon sort. This by nature of the trees virtually rules out the combat tree. I don’t think I am good enough to go Mutilate.
With that spec you need to get behind the opponent to deal your main strike.
Not my cup of tea at the moment.

To make a long story short, I am currently throwing my hard earned gold away on respec's.
I can’t decide.combat/swords; spamming SS till your fingers bleed, but very nice damage and some AoE to boot in the form of blade flurry. But when caught by a mage or shaman in BG's... your toast.

Shadow step; less damage, more survivability’s and sweet mobility. double cooldown's and some nice talents for sick opening damage.

On one side the berserker rogue, screaming "Come get some!!" and on the other the sneaky rogue, picking fight he can win from the comfort of shadow and all the mean to "get lost" when things go south.
For now I am going to be the second rogue, to try if it's my style... and to save my Gold for the flying mount. =)

First steps in a new world.

Well a lot of first steps already actually.
Me and my trusted companion Daygrene ( a troll Shaman) have already done most of the quests in Hellfire penninsula, and are now thouroghly underway in Zangermarsh.

Yesterday I did my first instance as a Rogue, we did Blood furnace.

The group consisted of a Rogue (me), Daygrene (Shamy DPS), a Hunter, Paladin (not holy, but healing anyway) and a furry warrior on tanking duty.

We came rather quick to the conclusion the hunters pet was actually holding agro better than the fury tank was holding it, and with the combined efforts of 3 mele DPS and a ranged one the mobs fell fast while the brave pet was taking a beating.
it was going so fast the Paladin actually cmplained being a bit bored. =)

The pug was good, both the hunter and the paladin knew exactly what they were doing there, so we did not get into any troubles.

The last boss was verry nice to drop <a
